Hard Lump On The Back Of The Head, Skin Moves Easily Over It, Dizzy Feeling On Pressing, Headache. Cause Of Concern?

Hi, I have just discovered a hard lump on the back of my head whilst doing my hair. I have not styled my hair for awhile, just been putting it up, so have not touched the back of my head for awhile. It is a hard lump, feels like bone, the skin moves over it easily. When I press on it I get a dizzying feeling and a slight headache . Should I be going to my doctor to get this checked? or is it my skull changing?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.

The hard swelling on the back of your head could be a bony growth, called as osteoma, which is a benign tumor. It is not a cause of concern, and can be left as it is.

However, it needs to be examined by a doctor to confirm whether that is the case, since, you have noted it for the first time.
