Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Has Hydrocephalus. Refused Surgery For Shunt. Diabetic. Taking Metformin, Gliclazide. Swollen Feet, ankles. Cure For Symptoms.
My husband is 76. Has iNormal pressure Hydrocephalus. He has refused surgery for a shunt. He is also diabetic on Metformin, Gliclazide & Ramipril(5mg) to protect his heart. His diabetes is under control, but the last 4 weeks he has been off his food. He has extremely swollen feet and ankles. His feet and lower legs are blotchy, possibly broken blood vessels. His swollen feet and lack of appetite worry me because these are new symptoms.
Hello, thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Diabetes is hub of diseases and many more diseases are develops from this disease.
Swelling over feet , ankles, blotch over legs are due to diabetes.
Coming to first question, please have an appetizer for your husband ( sugar free available in market) + buclizine hcl tabs fro anorexia. With these two appetizers there will be an increase in appetite.
Now second question is how to get rid off swelling from legs.
Diabetic patients are very prone to renal ( KIDNEY) disease so please consult a diabetologist and please get in complete check up of kidneys as U/S, blood tests, MRI, urea , uric acid.creatinine etc.
