Has Dark Patches In Pelvic Ultrasound. What Could It Be?

My mum went for an ultra sound this morning on her pelvis and the doctor said she was having many things happening down then and there were quite a few masses that were found and they showed up as dark patches on her ultra sound, she has not yet gotten the results as she has an appointment tomorrow morning but do you have any idea what it might be?
