Hi my name is jessi i am taking care of my 69 yr old landlord. She has been having a clear to yellowish liquid coming out of her elbo every couple of days. Im not sure what to do about it. She is drenching about 5 heavy duty paper towels every time it starts to drain. There is a hole in the center of her elbow that is about the size of the bottom of a ball point pen
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. You have mentioned only that there is hole in elbow. This is not in detail. Since , how many days ,your landlord having this hole? Yellowish discharge may be due to 1 fistula in bone or joint, 2 osteomyelitis, 3 tuberculosis, 4 degenerative disease in bone 5 Diabetes ( age factor). X ray , blood, C T SCAN are important for assessment of case. Consult an Orthopaedician and get his opinion as physical examination is also important. Hope I have answered your question. If further any question I will help. Good luck . Dr. HET
