My mother, 74 years old, end stages of Alzheimers, has continuing, chronic UTI's. Most often the cultures come back as E.Coli. This time, the results are as follows: Gram Neg. Rods - greater than 100,000; Alpha hemolytic Streptococcus - greater than 100,000 and enterococcus specidies presumptive - greater than 50,000. I'm VERY concerned about these results. She's in a LTC facility and under hospice care, but it's a constant struggle to get property peri-care for her and I'm really worried that it's really bad this time.
