Have Parkinson S Disease. On Benzhexol, Carbilev. Have A Pricking, Burning Tongue With Swelling, Mouth Ulcers. Suggestions?

I have Parkinson's Disease and have just started Benzhexol 2mg tds and I regularly use 7 Carbilev daily and I am cutting back on Ropinirole taking half mg tds and next week will be completely finished with that. I also take a statin for high cholesterol. Could the Benzhexol be causing a pricking and burning tongue with swelling in places and mouth ulcers?

Hi, of course it is possible to have buccal inflamation, it may not be that much, other possibilities could be inflamation of the tongue due to biting and secondary infection of the buccal mucosa, and ulcers.
I to my patients with such infection prescribe ofloxacin, antiinflamatory drugs, lactic acid bacillus, and anti septic mouth wash. so consult an E.N.T.surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.
If it recurs you can ask your doctor to change the drug. thank you.
