Have A Cyst On My Ovary. Am Finding Had To Empty My Bladder. Had A Menopause. Tried Anti Depressants. Suggestions?

Hi, I have a cyst on my ovary waiting to be operated on. Since January I have put on 6 kilos which is a lot for me, lethargic all the time, depressed 9 times out of 10, not interested in anything, sex included and uncomfortable when I do. Am finding it hard to empty my bladder at night also. Have had menopause for 3 years now and getting worse. Have tried anti depressants for years, counciling, have always kept myself fit but see no point any more as weight just keeps packing on. Thankyou for your time. Michelle 54yrs old.

Hi,
I would ask you to get a check up with a gynecologist as you could be experiencing a prolapse of the bladder wall as well as pressure effects of the cyst. Also, it is possible with the use of anti-depressants. Since depression is a part of the symptom complex of menopause, if you do not find any relief with any of the remedial measures, you may discuss with your doctor regarding hormone replacement therapy. Please spend some time on meditation and doing activities which you like very much; this will help you a lot. Please do not get disappointed, you will get over these symptoms in course of time as your body adjusts to the change. Hope your query is answered. Take care.
