Have A Fracture, Wrist And Fingers Swollen, Constant Pain. Get An Xray?

My elderly dad fell 3 weeks ago. Taken to hospital and x rayed but sent home saying no fracture , just badly bruised. Now his wrist and fingers are very swollen and he s in constant pain. His GP checked him today but said taking him back to A&E would be a waste of time. Should I go with my gut feeling and insist on another x ray or should I listen to his GP?

Hi, welcome to HCM.
If he is having continous pain and swelling then you must ask for another xray or CT SCAN. Because in just a bruise pain will subside in 24 hours.
Whatever may be next investigation or management keep hand completely immobile. Mobility increases pain significantly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
