Have A Soft Squishy Painful Lump Inside Knee. Should I Get It Checked?

Hi! I have a soft squishy lump on the inside of my knee which hurts like a bruise but getting more painful. I noticed it when I woke up and did not hurt it or kneel or anything. Should I have it checked? Should I have an xray? Thank you for your opinion.

Hi
If you can palpate lump outside on back of knee it can be a popliteal cyst. But if you are just getting the feeling of lump inside it should be rule out by imaging. It can even be a meniscal tear. I usually take x ray primarily in such case.If i cant find any thing in that or i find something not clear then i will further send for a CT or MRI.Approach an orthopedician for this.Hope this may help you.
thanks
