Have Bad Breath, Smelly Nose. Explain My Problem
hi.. i am toyosi i want to tell you that i am having bad breath and smelly nose ..when i am outside..even the people is far from me they will cover their nose..i dont know where it comes from because even i do not open my mouth , the smelly things come from me. people will cover their nose when they are near me even after i brush my teeth . can you explain about my problem because it affect with my social life..i don t confidence in myself and make my life miserable

Your condition is called as halitosis (bad breath ). there are many causes for halitosis. some are oral causes. oral causes means causes arising from your mouth. other causes can be called as extra oral causes, that means causes arising from other than mouth. oral causes can be due to plaque accumulation on teeth, presence of any tooth infection or gum infection. treatment for oral causes will be removal of causative agent, ì.e. get scaling done if there are plaque and calculus accumulation on your tooth. if there is any tooth/gum infection then get treatment done for infection. the bad breath should reduce by this. some mouth washes may be helpful if it is oral cause.
among extra oral causes, sinusitis is very common cause for halitosis. you should consult ent specialist for this. other extra oral causes could be gastritis, diabetes, liver diseases, kidney diseases. .... so on.
with the details provided by you, I strongly suspect you might have sinusitis. my recommendation is first visit dentist to rule out oral causes. if it is oral cause then dentist will be able to treat you. if it is extra oral cause, then depending on nature of smell dentist will refer you either ent specialist or physician.

Bad breath can be because of various problems like sinusitis, oral infections, tongue coating, eating of food stuffs like onion, cumin, starvation, GIT disturbances.
According to your clinical history it appears to be sinusitis.
I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist and get the checkup done.
Go for symptomatic treatment of complete mouth scaling and polishing.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.
Use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily.

Bad breath can be because of various problems like sinusitis, oral infections, tongue coating, eating of food stuffs like onion, cumin, starvation, GIT disturbances.
According to your clinical history it appears to be sinusitis.

Halitosis is the main reason of bad breath,because of periodontal disease(gum disease).due to bacteria , because waste products of anaerobic bacteria can cause smell. Nose is also a source of bad breath. because air existing the nostrils has a pungent that differs from oral odor. nasal odor may be due to sinus infections or foriegn bodies.So, gently clean your tongue surface,use tongue cleaner to wipe off bacterial film, mucus and debris, brush your teeth properly twice a day,eating a healthy breakfast anddrinking a lots of water,use chewing gums(because dry mouth can increase the bad breath) use nasal saline irrigation. use antibacterial mouthwash, visit your dentist for oral prophylaxis...

hi..as you have bad breath visit your dentist at the earliest.only after checking your mouth clinically,we can diagnose the cause.you must go for cleaning of teeth by your dentist.if your gum infection is severe,root planning and gingivoplasty has to be done.after cleaning has done,take doxycycline-100mg tab.once daily for 7 days.visit you dentist again after one week for review.take care.

Go for a dental check up, your dentist will tell u if you need professional cleaning of your teeth. But if the oral hygiene is proper then it may be due to some medical condition. Consulting a physician will be best.

this condition is called as halitosis in Dental terminology. it is due to poor oral hygiene maintenance and some internal conditions like acidity, frequent cold as probably in your case , sinusitis etc,.
start brushing your teeth 2 times per day and use mouthwash chlorohexidine .12% twice as well for min 1 week.
vicit the dentist for the cleaning and complete oral prophylaxis.
visit the E.N.T specialist also.

Hi Toyosi,
Some people are more prone to tartar and debris accumulation in between their teeth. It is almost impossible to remove it if your teeth are not aligned properly or if with time it has hardened and turned into calculus. You need a professional cleaning (scaling and polishing) by a dentist followed by a chlorhexidine mouthwash usage for 5-10 days. If its a dental odour issue then it will resolve within a couple of days after scaling. If the odour still persists then i would strongly recommend you to visit a physician for the same to rule out any medical problem.

hi toyosi I can understand your problem you face in society , take an appointment with dentist and get scaling done. In the meantime try to take an opinin of a E.N.T Surgeon so he can rule out the possibility of maxillary sinusitis.
