Have Bleeding In Black, Severe Cramps. Been On Implanon. What Could Be Wrong?
hi i have been on implanpon for almost 2 years now. i have been having really bad cramps so bad that its hard to do anything. could that be from the implanon in my arm? and also i had a period and the frist 2-3 days the blood was a black color and then it lightened up and turned a brownish color. then i stopped for like 4-5 days and now again i am bleeding and have such bad cramps that i can barely stand it. the cramps put me into tears. what could it be?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Implanon can cause side effects like intermenstrual spotting, irregular cycles, pain abdomen etc. So the irregularity you are having in menstrual flow could be due to implanon. But this much of severe pain may not be due to that. Better to consult gynecologist once and get examined, to rule out other causes like pelvic inflammatory disease, gastrointestinal causes etc. If she recommends go for ultrasound once. By this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated. Till that time you can take antispasmodics to control the pain. Take care.
