Have Breathlessness, Swelling Around The Ankles And High Pulse Rate

I recently had asthmatic bronchitis, with a high pulse rate, had a normal ekg, now they want me to have an
echocardiogram. I have a family history of heart disease. The cardiologist said he wants to see if I may possible
have pulmonary hypertension. Could I have an underlying heart problem as I am short of breath when doing normal things, ex: walking steps, I also seem to have a little swelling around my ankles after a day of working. ( I have a desk job)

Hi,
The breathlessness after walking, swelling on ankles, high pulse rate& pulmonary hypertension suggest heart involvement following long standing asthma.(carpulmonale)
Get echo cardiogram as suggested by your doctor. It will be helpful for further management.
In such you have to take derriphyllin instead of solbutamol for breathlessness.
Thanks.
