Have Brown Discharge. On Birth Control Pill Microgynon. What Should The Pattern Of Occurrence Of Period Be?
Hi, I have been on the birth control pill Microgynon 30 for around 3years (only stopping due to pregnancy) I had a baby 7 months ago and so am about 5months into taking the both control pill again. My question is when I visited my GP for my 6week check and to get my birth control she told me that as I am prone to falling pregnant on the pill and other method dont agree with my body, that I could take 3packs at once before taking the 7day break, I there fore have done this and am due my period this week, I have started to have a brown colour discharge is this the beginning of my period? And is it true that I can take the birth control as my GP directed therefore only having 4 periods a year? Thank you
Yes, it can be taken this way. There is a oral contraceptive called seasonique which is taken for 3 months with only 4 periods a year. This particular contraceptive is basically microgynon.
The brown discharge that you are noting is likely the beginning of your period.
I hope this helps
