Have Chills, Fever, Diarrhea, Sore Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing. Had Outside Food, Energy Drinks. Give Me Suggestion

Hello,

For nearly 5 days now I have had what I believe to be food poisoning, it started several hours after I ate a supermarket prawn sandwich. I started with chills and a fever, stomach cramps and severe dioarreah. I have attempted to eat soup over the past couple of days but am still having bad dioarreah, is this normal? Also, I have today woken up with an extremely sore throat and an finding it very painful to swallow. I have mainly just been drinking energy drinks (lucozade) the past few days- could this have caused my throat problem? I still feel very weak.

Thank you

Dear Friend.

You have diagnosed yourself right.

You might be having Acute Gastro-enteritis, due to outside food.

You are feeling weak, because you are dehydrated, you are loosing water and electrolytes from your body in loose stools.

I need to know about the details of stools, specially does it contains blood? Do you have fever along with?

You might need antibiotics to kill the infection, but we need to know, your age, weight, any pre-existing problems before we can prescribe you.

You should visit a physician.

Till then, you should take Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), readily available in the market. You can also take an antacid.

Keep a watch, you shouldn't get severely dehydrated.

Stay Healthy
