hi there
dont worry too much about sickle cell disease
chances are you have one normal gene in your genes
and therefore you will be safe

however about kids
you need to be careful with your son
you see the male child inherits the x chromosome from mother
so you may pass on the gene to son
since father does not donate x chromosome
your son might have problem

your daughter may have problems too if your husband has sickle cell trait too

the best means to avoid sickling crisis is good hydration and maintaining oxygen levels

hope this has answered you

best of luck
