Have Gone From Hypothyroid To Hyperthyroid. Got Arrhythmia. Taking Metoprolol. Have Missed Periods, Weight Gain
I have recently gone from a being hypothyroid to hyperthyroid with a TSH level of .02. We have decreased my thyroid medication and I am also on metoprolol for arrhythmia which is also recent. I have not had a menstral cycle in 6 months up until this / last month and now have had 2 in one month... I thought that if I am now hyperthyroid should that be the opposite .... Also in stead of losing wait I have gained about 7 lbs.... I m not due to repeat my bloodworm until January.... Should I be concerned.... I am 51.
HI Thank for asking to HCM what ever history is given here is very uncommon if it is hypothyroid then patient remained in this condition unless natural remission is there even if get corrected then also it may not be hyperthyroid even high dose of medicine in the case of hypothyroid it is very uncommon condition of developing hyperthyroidism in my opinion you better stop the treatment for few month and then repeat the test for thyroid function this will clear the picture have nice day.
