Have Heart Palpitations Causing Pains In Chest And Have Shortness Of Breath. ECG Normal. Advise?

Hi, I have been suffering from heart palpitations for a few weeks now (on and off). Sometimes it's so intense that it causes light stabbing pains in my chest and shortness of breath. Not only am I having palpitations but my resting heart rate is around 110-120 bpm. I have been to my GP, but at the time wasn't suffering any symptoms so after having an ECG I got told the results looked normal. What could this be?
