Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Let me know the status of blood sugar fasting & postprandial along with renal function test.
Your father should take above prescribed medicine twice in day 30 minutes before the meals.
He should also take DPP-IV inhibitors if renal function test is absolutely normal under guidance of treating doctor.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ endocrinologist.
He should also go for serum C peptide level to know the status of insulin formation in body.
Those patients who are suffering from type II diabetes, they may require insulin therapy at any stage of their life due to permanent destruction of beta cells in pancreas. In such cases, insulin is the only mode of therapy.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
