Have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Taking Verine Medicine. What Dosage To Take? Is It Harmful?
hi, i am having irritable bowel syndrome related to question
(1) i am on medication i am taking verine 200mg twice daily. my question is this medicine is harmful to health or has any side effects and up to how long i have to take this medicines please advise.

Mebeverine the drug which you are taking is just for symptomatic relief.

Its side effects are dryness of mouth, dizziness , some anxiety.
You can take it till improvement.
As far as concerned about the 2 nd query that I B S is a good sign of health.
You are in dilemma , mind it this is a disease and not a good sign , please remove any misconception from your brain.
I B S is characterized by chronic abdominal pain, uneasiness,bloating and alteration of bowel habits ( diarrhea or constipation may predominate or they may alternate.)
I don't know, why are you talking that it is a good sign of health.
So consult a doctor and now a days a intestine antibiotic is available so please have it for permanent cure. Get in U/S Abdomen and blood examination, stool.
