Have Keratoconus. Why Do I Get Dizzy, Have Head Spins? Eye Strain?
I have keratoconus and I m legally blind in the left eye & my right eye isnt much better ( although slightly corrected with glasses). Iv started studying part time and the past weeks have been getting extremely dizzy and having head spins, to the point I need to close my eyes or I feel I could faint. Blood pressure and sugar have been checked and are perfect. Could this be caused by eye strain? It comes on at odd times, in front of the computer, walking etc
Hi.. Thanks for posting your query.. Keratoconus is a progressive condition where your vision slowly decreases with increasing and irregular refractive error.. Depending on the stage and severity, there are various treatment options for keratoconus. ( C3R in the early stage to retard the progression of disease, scleral contact lenses, customised ablation and INTACS to correct the astigmatism and as a final resort keratoplasty). Your treating doctor can give you advise regarding which needs to be done depending on severity. The symptoms could be because of eye strain but vertigo cannot be ruled out.. Take care. I am available for any more queries..
