Have Leg And Toe Muscles Cramp. Taken Benicare HCT. Do I Need More Potassium?

I have been having a lot of leg and toe muscle cramps lately, especially at night, but also some during the day. I do take Benicar HCT 40, but have been taking it for 1 1/2 years. Could this be related, as it has a diuretic? Also, could this mean I need more potassium. The last couple of days I have had bananas and canteloupe and less cramps.

Hello,

Benicar HCT 40 is an antihypertensive drug.
One of the side effect of if the drug is increased potassium which causes muscle weakness and tingling.
So your symptom may be due to this side effect.
