Have Lump On Neck. Took Antibiotic. Advised CT Scan. CT Indicates Type Of Lump, Lump Are Malignant?
2 weeks ago I noticed a lump in the right side of my neck. Went to walk in clinic. was give a prescription for an antibiotic. No change. Had no pain, no fever. 2 days ago (a Friday) saw my regular doctor. He suggested an ultrasound but when one couldn't be given for a month, he changed it to a CT. and scheduled it for Mon. AM Then on Saturday evening I noticed a smaller lump in the left side of my neck. Can't reach my doctor on weeken so guess I should just keep my Mon. AM appointment for the CT. Does this scenerio indicate any particular cause/type of lump? Will CT show if lumps are malignet ?
Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. Do not worry. Lumps need not always be malignant. If they enlarge and are immobile and if CT shows evidence of malignancy you can confirm it by biopsy. But get Ultrasound or CT Hope I answered your query. Would be glad to help you further. Regards Dr Arun
