Have Lump On Neck, No Pain, Increasing In Size. Surgery Required?
Hi. I have a lump on the side of my neck. It's been there for a while now although in the beginning it was a lot smaller. At first it looked like a bug bite but after several months a small "ball" formed inside about the size of a plastic bb/pellet. I can press on it and it wouldn't hurt. It was like that for several months also. A couple of days ago, it got bigger, now the size of about a marble and it pains a bit when I press on it. I went to see a doctor about it and didn't really understand what it is (language barrier) but he did say it was nothing to worry about. It can go away by itself or I can go do a small surgery to get it removed. I was wondering if you can tell me what it is so I can learn more about it, like how I got it, why I got it, etc. Thank you
Hi, Bump requires close examination as it might be simple enlarge lymph node and may not require any surgery. Find out the focus of infection surrounding area and go for treatment. If it is a small lipoma or cyst can be removed surgically. Consult surgeon and get examined. Ok and take care.
