Have Pain In The Ankle. Had A Trimalleolar Fracture Earlier And Was Advised For A Surgery Which Was Not Done. What To Do Now?

Hi I suffered a trimalleolar fracture to my left ankle in feb I was told I HAD to have surgery even though none of my fractures were significantly displaced so I decided to turn down the surgery and give my bones the chance to heal on their on in a cast here i am almost four months later and I am walking and doing physical therapy I just turned 25 and I live in Miami we tend to have really bipolar weather and these past few days have been humid and rainy and for the first time through this entire ordeal Ive felt pain in what feels like the middle of my ankle my physical therapist said its my joints

The trimalleolar fractures are difficult to heal without a surgery. A malunion or a non union is common which causes a persistent pain. You can consider getting a surgery done now to repair the damage.
