Have Pain In The Leg And Arm. Advised For A MRI-back And A Neurologist. What Can It Be?
Hi,I'm 39 year old, female, having pains, pins and needles in my left leg for over a month now...and the same simptoms in my left arm for three weeks as well. I have seen my GP, who referred me for MRI-back and neurologist. Still waiting for both to be done...my concern is: can simptoms,I am experiencing be heart attack simptoms..as some times pains goes to shoulder and neck,face..left arm and leg I feel weak and at the same time heavy...I am very anxious...
Hi and thanks for this query. I am sorry to hear about your pains.
The mere though of a heart attack makes most of us anxious. I am not surprised you are feeling same. These symptoms are in no way related to a heart attack or suggestive of one. Please, stay calm on this.
My understanding is that the GP probably suspects there could be something going on wrong in the back that affects the nerves as they exit. Asking for the MRI will provide more information and clarification on this. Asking you to see a neurologist is sensible, too.
I wish you all the best as you try to get this problem sorted out. Hope I answered your questions, Please, feel free to come back if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD!
