Have Pain In The Muscle/ligament Of The Left Upper Thigh. Pain When Rotated Outwards. Suggested Arthritis. Suggestions?

Hello,
I have pain in the muscle/ligament of the left upper thigh, High in the groin area. Pain occurs if the leg is asked to rotate outwards. It is also painful in the left groin when I cross my right leg over the left leg, as though I am condensing the area. my GP rotated the leg outwards and stated... its athritis! But I dont think there is a bone joint in that area. Thanks for insight you may have. Dorothy

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain on outward rotation of the leg could be due to arthritis or a labral tear or inflammation. An MRI scan of the area will help in proper diagnosis. Till then avoid weight bearing on the joint.
