Have Painful Rash On Arms And Legs. Used Antibiotics And Creams. Is Psoriatic Arthritis Autoimmune In Origin?
Dear Dr. Grief,
My 1st queries seemed to have gone before I finished.
1. Is psoriatic arthritis ?autoimmune in origin
2. What is the treatment for the rash, just one spot can be very painful. I use steroid cream now as little as possible. It took 3 years and a trip to Australia (son's Dr.) to get a diagnosed. Had all sorts of antibiotics and creams with no effect, cluster of 3 spots appeared in numerous areas over my body. the pain in the nerves and muscle involved was quite severe, they seemed to ooze secretion in the early stage. Now it is more single spots in certain areas arms and legs mainly.
3. I understand there is no preventive treatment for hands feet involvement. I got it last winter for the first time and it was so painful. I am 77this year.
In 2000 I got flu like symptoms and was confined to bed for 2 weeks it was followed by a similar rash confined to my face only it lasted for two weeks or so. This bout did not involve my my face but a few in my head.
I should be very grateful for your knowledge on this subject.

Hello.yes psoriatic arthritis is a autoummune disorded .rash u explained is psoriasis.apply moist along with steriod in the morning and calcipotriol ointment in the night.psoriatic arthritis is treated with neotrexate 15 mg weekly once
