Have Periods After Taking Zoloft Despite Having Implanon. Due To Interaction?

I have had the birth control implanon in for almost a year and I started Zoloft for anxiety about 2 months ago. Ever since I have had the implant I stopped having periods and then right when I started Zoloft I started having periods every week. No spotting... Full on periods. I am worried that Zoloft is interacting with my implant and I might get pregnant.

Hello
Thanks for your query.
It is not a must for women to have no periods while on Implanon.
Many women do continue to have regular periods.
Zoloft does affect the menstrual cycle, but it does not reduce the efficacy of IMplanon.
Rest assured that the implant is working fine.
The possibility of pregnancy is not increased by zoloft use.
As such, no major interactions are reported between the two drugs.
Do not stress out.
All the best.
Take care.
