Have Perpetual Knot In Back Around Underarm, Extremely Sensitive Spot To Touch. Have Bit Of Bent Spine. Will Acupuncture Help?

I have a perpetual knot in my back. It's more of a "spot". A trigger point that is extremely sensitive to touch. When I push on it, directly on it, it feels like electricity running through half my body. The spot is on the upper left side of my back, directly around from my underarm. I have s bit of a bent spine and when my lower back gets out of whack (often) the ribs in that area on my left side also get out of place, creating this tension. I saw a chiropractor 2-3 times/week for a year and he helped me a lot. but this sensitive spot will never go away. Sometimes it doesn't bother me but sometimes I can feel it and have to work on it, but it's insatiable. Is my rib just pressing on a group of nerves or something? My doc told me to work out knots, but this never gets better. Is there some way to get rid of it? Acupuncture?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this sensitive spot on your back. For real, there are some spots that simply get very sensitive and act as trigger points. The simple truth is that only palliative measures to avoid triggering this point would help. All efforts are geared at conditioning the system not to over react to this stimulation if at all rather than getting rid of it. So, learning how to cope with this is the most important thing than striving to get rid of it because it may simply be very very unlikely.

If you believe in acupuncture, it can help. It is all about your state of mind and not what it really does in the system that makes the difference. It has no profound damages to health and trying it out would not be a terrible idea if you can pay for.

I hope it helps. I wish you well. please, feel free to ask for more information if need be.
