Have Polycythemia Vera, Body Pain, Dizziness, Weakness, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. High WBC Count And Cholesterol

I am 56yo female, almost perfect weight, but totally disabled and bedridden from bodywide pain, dizziness, weakness, and have an abdominal aortic aneurysm. I was diagnosed with Polycythemia vera this year and have had blood removed, but the numbers of wbc and other counts are still very high. Whenever I sit or stand my skin all over turns bright red and purple within minutes. I am currently under enormous stress from effects of husband losing his job for 3 1/2 years, being homeless and trying now to recover from that since he has finally returned to work. What is the next step I should take to feel better and get my numbers within a normal range? WBC was over 36,000 last check and my bad cholesterol has spiked 200 pts within a few months. Two months prior to the cholesterol spike my potassium was dangerously low as was a couple of other vitamins so I began supplements. Blood pressure usually averages 130/90 - 130/101 and rate between 125 - 140, ox registered 94% last appointment regarding the triple A.

Dear patient,

Thanks for your varied concerns. The first issue to start feeling better is looking for healthy ways to cope with your stress, such as exercising, meditation, yoga, etc. In terms of your potassium, figs and citrics have the highest dietary contents; in terms of blood pressures, the bottom number should be below 90 most of the time, so you may want to follow with your provider to see if after a period of lifestyle changes you need or not medications.
