Have Problem With Constipation, Taking Stool Softeners But No Help. Is Miralax Addictive?

Is miralax addictive? Is it OK to use it daily? I have always had a problem with constipation and having had my Dad and sister both die from colon cancer I would like to take care of this problem. I have been taking stool softeners regularly but they don't seem to help my regularity. Thanks for any help you can give me.

It is not addictive but it shouldnt be used cronically. It should be used till there is constipation and not for cancer prevention or other wrong indications. ALso, it cant replace healthy diet. SO,take it only if there is clear indication.
