Have Runny Nose, Coughing, Fever, Legs And Hands Pain. Consulted Doctor. Any Ideas?
My 3 yr old daughter has been sick for 3 weeks now I took her to doctor 2 weeks ago and they said she had the flu. Well she hasn t yet completley gotten over it her nose is running and she is still coughing and as of last night she is running a fever again also she has been complaining about her arms, legs, hands, and feet hurting. What could this be??
As you have mentioned that your daughter has suffered from runny nose, cough for about 3 weeks now and has started running a fever along with body aches. She was diagnosed with flu earlier.
Children who have flu or other viral infections maybe predisposed to getting a superimposed bacterial infection. Since she has developed a new fever, there are other possibilities like her developing sinusitis or an ear infection or even PNEUMONIA. I would recommend for her to have a complete examination to be done by her pediatrician to rule out these. Your doctor may order several tests like CBC, CRP, Urine analysis and also a chest xray if needed based on his examination.
Hope your daughter gets well soon. Best wishes. Regards, Dr. Sumeet.
