Have Severe Pain In The Wrist Due To A Fall

I fell up a slick set of steps outside landing on my wrist on the concrete porch two days ago. They said it's just a sprain at the local ER but I am in so much pain that I can't sleep. It runs from my pinky finger all the way up to my elbow. The most persistent pain is in my wrist just below the bone that sticks out a bit. What should I do?

If you are having so much pain, my first advice to get the x ray of wrist, and check if any fracture is there, as site where you are feeling most pain is very common site to have fractures. If it turns outto be a sprain than apply ice, take pain killers like diclofenec or voveron.
