Have Swollen Left Elbow, Tender. Treatment?

I have a swollen left elbow and very tender. It is on the inner and outer side of the elbow. It started at the upper part of the arm close to the shoulder and I thought i pulled a muscle. Then after about a week it moved down into the elbow. What kind of specialist should I go see to treat this? I m not sure whether to see My Rheumatologist who I see for Fibro or to make an app with an Ortho. In your opinion, What do you think this could be?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Presence of swelling and tenderness in a joint always suggests either an Infection or Inflammation.

I suggest you to consult an Orthopedic surgeon, who will order a few blood investigations and xrays of the involved joints to diagnose your problem.

In the meantime, Apply ice to the painful & swollen area . Ice will help calm the inflammatory response and stimulate blood flow to the area.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
