Have Tendonitis. Pain In Foot, Bump On Ankle, Brown Bruise. Broken Blood Vessel?
I have tentinitis in my left foot . Separate from that, about 2 weeks ago I was in a gentle yoga class and we were doing some balancing on one foot. We did about three moves where I balanced on my left foot. The next morning I woke up and my foot hurt on the top of the foot. I thought it was from tentinitis but it was on the top of my foot, and not where I usually have pain. All day I had trouble walking on it without pain. A few days later I had a brownish bruise on the top of my foot. A few days later than that I noticed a bump on the top of my ankle and it was bruised. As I was walking these past two weeks. I was walking akward, dropping my foot to compensate for the pain. Now I am trying to retrain myself the heel, toe movement. Meantime, the bruise is there and there is slight pain. Is it a broken blood vesse? Barb O Connell

Hi and welcome to HCM From description it seems to be soft tissue injury . Bump on your ankle might be due to haematoma formation(collection of blood) due to broken microvessels. You need to avoid massaging the area and take a mild pain killer for relief. Avoid sitting for long hours. Do a cold compress on the area of injury. The pain and swelling might take over a week to subside. In case there is an acute pain and a sudden increase in swelling then consult your physician for a direct examination to rule out any infection in the area.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and informative and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
