Have Thumb Numbness. Had A Abortion And Now Taking Yamini Tablets. Can This Medicine Harm Future Pregnancy?

Hi Mam, I am 30 yrs old. Got married two years back. Last year i had an abortion (within 2 months) i.e., in Feb 2012. Then doctor advised me to take Yamini tablets. Its little more than a year now since i m taking the pills.

Please advise me if it may effect my pregnancy in coming future. Should i stop taking them now?

Also, i have thumb numbness in my feets since last year, Is it a side effect of the pils??

Hello,

Yamini is a birth control tablet and you should not have any problem in conceiving when you stop taking it. Stop them only under your doctor's guidance.

Thumb numbness can be due to can be due to diabetes, vitamin B 12 deficiency, thyroid causes, nerve irritation and neurological causes. We need to confirm the diagnosis by getting your blood sugar levels, EKG heart, vitamin B 12 levels and a neurological examination from a neurologist done. Also take vitamin B12 supplements for some days.
