Having Breathing Problem. Stomach Bulged. Going To Gym. Doing Cardio. Suggest

hi, am jai, i have recently joined Gym to reduce my weight and i have started doing cardio exercise like threadmill and effex, du to slight breathing problem i started breathing from mouth and nose, also after completing GYM i reach home and drink 2 glasses full of grape juice... from last 4 days i feel my stomach got bulged and not able to take the o2 until my stomach.. am feeling very uncomfortable while breathing.... could some one help me how to eradicate this..... earlier last week i thought it was due to my tight clothes..but it was not , i strongly feel it is due to gasses stuck in stomach causing problems... doc please help me...

Hi Jai,

It seems like you have constipation. You should not be doing gym on a full stomach. If you have not being doing it on a full stomach, then it could mean some other cause of constipation. What you can do is to start taking a mild laxative or fibre in your diet. I recommend you start taking isaphgula which will aid in the digestion and also prevent constipation. If this does not help, reply to the query and we will start you on something a little more advanced.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

well it may be due to the fact that you are not accustomed for this type of exercise . It is not advisable to take any kind of liquids just after exercising as that would lead to bloating . You need to wait and relax for 20 minutes at least so that your heart rate returns back to normal .

Incorporate salads in your diet that will stop bloating and help you with weight loss also . There is a need to build your stamina for exercise that comes with practise only .
