I got the results from my MRI today and I am trying to understand it. I had them done due to chronic Migraines.
No restricted diffusion of acute infarction or other obvious
active brain parenchymal process. Minor white matter disease is
manifested by approximately 4-6 very small (2 mm-5 mm) T2 and
FLAIR hyperintense foci which are primarily scattered along the
subcortical white matter of the right greater than left
anterior frontal lobes, also involving the frontal opercular
regions near the anterior junction of the internal and external
capsules. No additional site of white matter signal change
elsewhere in the brain. The differential diagnosis would first
include sequela of migraine headaches, particularly given the
provided history. Additional diagnostic considerations would
include chronic microvascular ischemic change, sequela of
remote nonhemorrhagic trauma, vasculitis,
infectious/inflammatory entities, and multiple sclerosis,
though without typical imaging appearance of the clinical
entity demonstrated, for which clinical correlation is
recommended. No parenchymal edema or encephalomalacia.
