Having Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gastric, Loud Stomach Growling, Feels Uncomfortable. Advice?

Hello. I have IBS . I usually have bowel movement first thing when I wake up in the morning. After a while I feel like there is a fermentation process going on in my belly and my belly start producing gas and I start removing air. But as I have to go to work, I cannot go to toilet each time to try to remove the air and me belly growls very loudly. Its very uncomfortable. Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern especially because it is affecting your daily life. For these symptoms you should try eliminating high-gas foods. You should avoid such items as carbonated beverages, salads, raw fruits and vegetables — especially cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. This doesn't mean that you should avoid vegetables, but just try to eat them boiled.
Try also to eat smaller meals and dring plenty of liquids. Water is best. Alcohol and beverages that contain caffeine stimulate your intestines and can make diarrhea worse, and carbonated drinks can produce gas.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
