Having Pain In Right Ankle, Given Jointace DN & Poinmath. Whether The Problem Can Be Solved By These Tablets Alone Or Any Surgery Is Required?

Hi Dr. I am 39 years old. Having pain in right ankle since last 3 years. Pain starts immediately after walking from rest. It is lasting for about 15 minutes. after that there is no pain at all. I could walk even 10 -15 Kms. But if i sit fro a minute and then started walking again its paining. last month MRI was taken. Th e findings are osteochondritis dessicans involving medial talar dome. Then I have consulted a Orthopdedic Surgeon. He gave me tablets for 3 months. They are Jointace DN & Poinmath each 1 tablet per day. Whether the problem can be solved by these tablets alone or any surgery is required?. Kindly advice me. Thanks.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
You have osteochondritis dessicans. It can be managed conservatively with the help of medicines. The treatment depends on the severity of the problem. If there is no relief then surgical treatment can be considered.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
