Having Painful Lump Behind Ear And Pain In Neck. What Is The Problem?
My 14 year old daughter just noticed a painful bony pea sized lump behind her right ear. She is very active in soccer, and hardly ever gets sick. Not even allergies. She says she hasn't had any problems at all...meaning no headaches, no ear problems, sight problems, not even a sniffle. Another thing, she says it hurts when she turns her neck a certain way, and it's painful to the touch. It's not red or anything. She says she has no idea how long it has been there and just noticed it yesterday. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Enlarged lymph node behind ear is very common condition and needs proper evaluation.
Most common reason for enlarged lymph node is usually infection, so we can start antibiotic regime and look for results.
If there is no improvement then we will need to investigate in form of complete blood count, ESR, CRP, tuberculin test, and Fine needle aspiration cytology or open biopsy
So I will advise you to consult a specialist and do further investigation.
