I have been having head shakes for the past three days, it started with lower back pain, then it reached my neck now my head wont stop jerking. What do I do, I took a salt bath for relaxation, a muscle relaxer and Percocet for pain, pain is gone but head is still jerking, This does not run in my family at all, I don't have health insurance. Any suggestions YYYY@YYYY
Involuntary jerking of head can be caused by variety of causes particularly in elderly people- like Parkinson's disease, Lewy bodydementia, Alzheimer's disease etc.
However, side effects of certain medicines and severe hypoxia (lack of oxygenation) etc can also cause involuntary jerky movements.
Complete neurological examination is required to arrive at proper diagnosis. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
