Headaches. Have Severe Emphysema, Prostrate Cancer. Cause Of Headache?

My husband has severe emphysema, no chance of a transplant because of prostate cancer so he has to ride this one out. Our question is, when he wakes in the morning he nearly alway has a bad headache over his left eye, he doesn't hook up to oxygen to see if that works, do you think it would help? He also gets headaches during the day for no specific reason.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Emphysema is characterized by destruction of gas exchanging air spaces.
It means amount of Oxygen required for daily uses diminishes, hence patients have to breath rapid .
Rapid breath develops fast heart beat ( palpitation), this further develops increase in blood pressure , the main cause of headache of your husband.
2nd reason of this pain in head over eyes may be raised intra-ocular tension ,can be confirmed by an ophthalmologist .
3rd reason of headache early in the morning may be postural hypotension.
Consult a physician and get in physical examination and treatment according to situation.
