Heard A Popping Sound Due To Pressure Applied On Knees

I Was playing basketball and went up for a layup and as I came down I heard a loud pop. Now my knee is in a lot of pain but I can still walk on it and play basketball on it. It feels like its going to give out at any moment as well. Whats wrong with my knee? Is it a torn ligament??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a ligament tear or locked knee. Consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
