Heartburn And Difficult Breathing And Burping. Feeling Of Lump In Chest. What Might This Be?
Ive suffered with heartburn for a few year lately I have been having a hard time breathing and everytime I eat I have a hard time burping, when I do I regurgitate food with it. At times I feel like im going to pass out cause I cant breath and get like a hot wave passing throug out my body, I also feel like there is a lump in my upper chest. Any ideas of what I might have? Thank you for the help.
Your symptoms are due to reflux of acid from the stomach to the esophagus, the cause of which may vary from a weak valve between the esophagus and stomach or esophagitis or hiatal hernia or other disorders. While taking medicines which reduce acid production like proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, pantoprazole etc) or H2 blockers (ranitidine etc) will help in controlling your symptoms, it will be better to consult a gastroenterologist and get an endoscopy or other investigations done to find out the exact cause. Also try to avoid lying down for at least a couple of hours after meals. Cut down on spicy and oily foods as much as possible as these aggravate your symptoms.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
