Heavy Bleeding, Popping Sensation While Having Bowel Movement. Reason?

I had a colposcopy 9th april, on 20th april I began to bleed very heavily (more than 1 pad hour), passing very larger clots, this lasted three days, continued to have light bleeding, until today when it became a lot heavier again, with little blood clots. I just felt what I can only describing as a popping sensation when I went to the toilet.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Do you have vomiting/ fever/ increased urge to use washroom/ watery shit?
With the available described symptoms, there could be possibility of Acute bacterial gastroenteritis.
Presence of excessive gas formation, blood in stool and joint ache suggests the diagnosis.
Other possibilities could be Inflammatory bowel disease; crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for complete blood count, blood sugar, serum electrolytes, and thyroid profile.
You should take complete antibiotic therapy, antispasmodics, probiotics, hemostatic, antipyretics, if needed.
Take soft diet along with yogurt and banana.
Avoid milk and all milk related products.
Take care,

General Surgeon Dr. Grzegorz Stanko's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such bleeding needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible. It might be an urgent condition.
Your bleeding can be caused by recent colonoscopy (due to some intestine trauma or inflammation), however the source of bleeding can be also in the stomach or small intestine.
Blood from stomach is usually black (like a tar), however if it moves quite fast through the bowels, can be also red. Small intestine vessel problem (so called malformation) can be also a reason of such bleeding.

It is very important to find the source of it and stop the bleeding. That is why I`m asking you to visit your doctor as soon as possible. Blood work should be done at first to see hemoglobin level. Stomach gastroscopy, abdominal CT(angio-CT) should be considered.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
