Heavy, Long Periods With Blood Clots Throughout The Day. History Of Irregular, Light, Short Periods. No Pain, Fatigue. Thoughts?
Hi, I'm 20. I've always had very irregular periods, light flow, lasting 3-4 days. My periods would skip months but when I had them they were very light. For the past few months I've been having very heavy periods lasting longer then 7 days. I spot maybe once a day for 2weeks, then I have a very heavy flow for a week or so, with blood clots often through out the day. I don't have any pain in my stomach, no fatigue or weakness or cramps. It feels like I have my period for a month.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. As you described in the query we call it as dysfunctional uterine bleeding & also irregular bleeding. Let me explain so that you yourself will understand about your disease. The most common cause of dysfunctional bleeding or irregular bleeding or anemorrhea in young female usually develops due to Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome ( PCOD) . In my opinion you should consult a gynaecologist and ultrasound can confirm any disorder in genitals , so get it an examination. Good luck. Dr. HET
