Heavy Smoker. Tightness And Feeling Of Big Lump On Sternum After Being Hit. What Could It Be?

My dad is a heavy smoker and does hard demolishion work and he had damage done to his stomach working on the scizzorlift where the handle hit his sternum between ribs and stomach now he says theres a tightness feeling a big lump there now and he is wondering what it may be?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Any lump caused after trauma is not that serious. Mostly, it could be Haematoma, collection of blood or traumatic fat necrosis, a condition occurring after trauma.
If the lump is not subsiding, please get it examined and go for evacuation or drainage of the content.
Till then take an Antibiotic like Amoxycillin and anti inflammatory drug.
