Hi, I Came Across A Website That Says Baking Soda

I came across a website that says baking soda mix with water is a effective treatment for pimples. I did make my potion and apply it on my face except my lips and eyes area. The problem is, the following morning my lips were swollen. I don't remember applying any of the mixture on my lips. I was terrified and embarrassed at the same time. Please advise. Thank you kindly.
