History Of Back Fracture. Have Osteoporosis And Amputated Leg. Taking Oxycontin And Lyrica

I am a 56 year old paraplegic amputee. I had a motorcycle accident in 1981 broke my back at T6 ,Complete. At 45 they found my spine was curved at 45 degree s and wanted to put titanium rods in from T8 to L3 . I should have said no. They also found that I had a huge syrinx /cyst. syringumiola. So I had four surgeries before they found a proper shunt. I came home after my final shunt surgery, one week later I was making a coffee in my kitchen and my right arm started to go numb then it went completely dead I could not move it period! This really freaked me out I could not wheel my chair. So I phoned my parents because the ambulance would not take me to Toronto from Oakville. When they finally got to Toronto they had to open me up from my neck down my sryinx runs in pockets ,they told me there was pressure on my spinal cord. After they put the rods in the hardware came loose and 4 screws fell out, so they went back in / that surgery went bad and the rods got infected. I had a workshop in my basement and bummed down 36 steps on a cushion for 15 years, and being a paraplegic I also have osteoporosis this did my hips in one actually popped out of socket and remains that way. I always have been very active guy I have chained motors & transmissions in vehicles restored a number of cars from the ground up and I mean striped it and put it back together after two years. In 2006 I missed a transfer into my wheelchair and broke my right femur bone they put my leg in a cast from my hips all the way down to my toes. They rapped the cast to tight from my knee down to my toes. The Doctor was away for one week I tried to get the cast off my family and friends took me to three emergency s they wanted the approval from the doctor that put the cast on . The time he came back from his holiday and cast was removed bubbled blister s were all over from my knee down my foot was gangrene. So they amputated my leg three times before finally finding proper circulation. I ended up with my right leg amputated just above the knee. Then I was still having problems with my balance plus the wheelchair was not balanced properly and could not get anyone into fix it . So I fell again on my left femur , Living in the same area I had to go see the same Doctor his first Question was so do you want me to amputate it or try and save it. I take over 300 mg of oxycontin a day this has been going on for over 10 years I also take close to 1000 mg of Lyrica a day . I have tried everything on the market ALMOST. If I bend down quiet a bit in a day then I deal with pain attacks that last over half an hour they are so severe they are like waking up after a 14 hour surgery with no medication in my body at all. These seem to happen more at night when my body is trying to relax I have had over 17 major surgeries titanium rods from T-8 to L3. They should have put a sipper on my back. These are all true facts and there is still more to tell This is why I take so much pain medication Richard Green
